Sources close to the Kolstad family informed the Montana Sentinel that their daughter was moved to Canada without parental consent, and without the parents being told. The parents were notified on Monday, February 5, 2024 that their daughter was in Canada with her birth mother – after she has already been moved from her location in Billings, Montana at the Youth Challenge Academy. The same sources informed the Sentinel that the birth mother, who resides in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada has not been involved in their daughter’s life for over seven years.
