Another shooting. This time in Minneapolis. Another young adult, another trail of devastation. And once again, we are staring at the consequences of a culture that refuses to treat mental illness and instead chooses to affirm delusion.

Let’s be blunt: believing you are transgender is a mental illness. Full stop.

And affirming mental illness instead of treating it? That’s dangerous. We’ve built an entire medical and cultural framework around indulging fantasy, rather than grounding vulnerable kids in reality.

What did they think was going to happen?

The Cocktail No One Wants to Talk About

For decades, we have known that certain medications carry dangerous side effects when stacked together. Antidepressants like SSRIs [Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors], antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and stimulants were handed out like candy. They have long carried warnings about suicidal ideation, mania, and violent behavior. Case studies, black-box labels, and tragic headlines confirmed the risks. Even the FDA has admitted it in its own black box warnings: these drugs can trigger suicidal thinking and behavior, particularly in young people.

Mix the wrong meds in the wrong brain, and you create volatility. Sometimes it turns inward as suicide. Sometimes it explodes outward in violence.

A few examples stand out:

Columbine, 1999

Eric Harris was on the antidepressant Luvox (fluvoxamine) at the time of the massacre.

Jeff Weise, Red Lake High School shooting, 2005

The 16-year-old was on Prozac when he killed nine people and himself in Minnesota.

Steven Kazmierczak, Northern Illinois University, 2008

He killed five and wounded more than a dozen. Reports showed he had recently stopped taking Prozac, Xanax, and Ambien, and had been on similar psychiatric drugs for years.

James Holmes, Aurora theater shooting, 2012

Holmes had been prescribed the SSRI sertraline and the anti-anxiety drug clonazepam before the attack.

Adam Lanza, Sandy Hook, 2012

While full toxicology was withheld, it was confirmed that he had a history of psychiatric treatment and was prescribed the antidepressant Celexa at one point.

These are not isolated cases. They reveal a consistent pattern. When you destabilize already fragile young people with cocktails of psychiatric medications, the results can be catastrophic.

Now add a new layer to the cocktail: puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones. These are not benign. They interfere with brain development, disrupt endocrine function, and collide with the same neurochemistry already distorted by psychiatric drugs. What was once an already fragile equation is now compounded by drugs that scramble basic biological signaling.

We are watching in real time as a whole new example of pharmacological danger unfolds, and everyone is too afraid to say it out loud. The same medical and cultural establishment that once ignored the risks of SSRIs is now ignoring the risks of puberty blockers and synthetic hormones. History is repeating itself, but this time with an even higher price tag.

Silencing the Doctors

Not every doctor went along with the madness. Some saw what was happening and tried to speak out. They questioned the sudden explosion of children being labeled with gender dysphoria. They warned about the risks of puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries on healthy bodies.

For their courage, they were persecuted. Medical boards opened investigations. Professional associations smeared them. Colleagues turned on them. The media labeled them dangerous. The message was clear: stay silent or risk losing your license and livelihood.

These doctors were not motivated by hate. They were motivated by concern for children and for the truth. Yet they were driven into silence so that the narrative could continue unchecked.

When the professionals who dare to challenge the system are destroyed, parents are left with no trustworthy guides. They are funneled toward the loudest voices, the activists in lab coats, and the cycle of harm continues.

Here are just a few of the real doctors who were targeted for speaking up:

Dr. Eithan Haim – Texas Surgeon

Indicted in June 2024 on alleged HIPAA violations tied to exposing Texas Children’s Hospital’s pediatric gender program. The DOJ abruptly dismissed the case with prejudice on January 24, 2025.

Dr. Meryl Nass – Maine Internist

License suspended in 2022 for COVID treatment protocols. In December 2023 the state extended her suspension and fined her. She filed a federal lawsuit, and in July 2024 a judge allowed parts of the case to proceed.

Dr. Aaron Kheriaty – UC Irvine Psychiatrist

Fired in December 2021 after refusing the University of California’s vaccine mandate. His lawsuit was dismissed, and in November 2022 the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the dismissal.

Dr. Mary Talley Bowden – Houston ENT

Lost hospital privileges at Houston Methodist in 2021 after speaking publicly about COVID protocols. She later filed a $25M defamation lawsuit, which was dismissed; in 2024 an appeals court upheld the dismissal.

Dr. Paul Marik – Critical Care Specialist

Co-founder of the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance. In 2021 a Virginia judge blocked his attempt to compel a hospital to use ivermectin. He resigned from Eastern Virginia Medical School shortly after. In 2024, the American Board of Internal Medicine stripped both him and Dr. Pierre Kory of their certifications.

Dr. Scott Jensen – Minnesota Family Physician

Former state senator and gubernatorial candidate. Investigated multiple times by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice over his COVID views and prescribing. He sued, claiming retaliation. Federal courts dismissed his suit in 2024 and again in 2025 for lack of standing.

When Therapy Becomes Indoctrination

Parents who seek therapy for a child struggling with mental illness believe they are reaching for a lifeline. They walk in hoping for stability, guidance, and professional wisdom. Instead, many are met with therapists who act more like activists than healers.

In today’s climate, therapy too often means instant affirmation. Not questions. Not digging for root causes. Not working through trauma, anxiety, or depression. Just a rubber stamp: Yes, you really are the opposite sex. Yes, your parents need to support medicalization. Yes, the only path forward is blockers, hormones, and surgery.

And if parents hesitate, they are told their child will spiral. That they will kill themselves. That refusal to affirm will be the death sentence.

What kind of professional threatens families into medical mutilation and sterilization?

Therapy, which should be the first defense against mental illness, has become the first step down the conveyor belt to lifelong dependence on pharmaceuticals, permanent physical damage, and irreversible regret.

Parents walk in with a troubled child. They walk out with a sicker child, one armed with new vocabulary, new demands, and a roadmap to surgical destruction.

This is not therapy. This is indoctrination wrapped in a license. Families are being destroyed by it.

Patterns Emerging in Violence

These are not isolated stories. They form a pattern that is becoming harder to ignore.

Just days ago, an individual who identified with alternate pronouns was arrested after allegedly trying to run down Border Patrol agents with a car. Another flash of violence from someone steeped in delusion and instability.

In Tennessee, a young woman who identified as a man and used he/him pronouns carried out the horrific Covenant School shooting, murdering three children and three adults. That attack was meticulously planned, with red flags ignored until it was too late.

In Colorado, an individual who identified as they/them opened fire inside an LGBTQ nightclub, killing five.

When you step back, the thread is clear. Affirmation of mental illness, combined with pharmaceuticals, hormones, and a culture that normalizes delusion, is producing violent outcomes.

The spiral is real. And it is accelerating.

Minnesota’s Strict Gun Laws Didn’t Matter

Minnesota is no lightweight when it comes to gun control:

Background checks

Waiting periods

Red flag laws

It’s all there.

So how did the shooter get firearms?

Did he lie on the forms, saying he had no history of mental illness? Did the system fail to flag him? Or are gun shops so intimidated by the political climate that they sell weapons to people they know are unstable, afraid of being accused of discrimination?

Gun laws didn’t stop this. Because at the root of it all, the problem isn’t the guns. It’s the mental illness.

Accountability: Who Pays the Price?

So, let’s ask the real questions.

Do we prosecute the doctors who hand out puberty blockers and hormone injections like candy?

Do we hold parents accountable for enabling delusion instead of guiding their children toward reality?

Do we hold our political leaders responsible for pushing policies that celebrate fantasy until it turns violent?

Currently, it’s innocent people who are paying the price.

And what about the pharmaceutical companies? They knew exactly how dangerous these drugs were. They knew about the side effects, the risks of sterilization, the psychiatric fallout. They knew that these physicians were using them “off-label”. Yet they remained silent because the profits were enormous.

The American Medical Association knew better as well. They knew better than to punish doctors who raised alarms, and they knew better than to promote policies that turned experimental drugs into standard care. They chose politics and profit over children.

I Would Have Screamed Louder

In 2021, I ran for the school board. I was dragged by my own community for the simple position that female sports should remain female. That girls should not lose out on their hard-earned scholarships, their titles, their opportunities, because boys want to put on a skirt and call themselves girls.

At the time, I was painted as cruel. Backward. Out of touch. The whispers in the grocery store. The gossip online. The slander in meetings. All because I dared to say what every honest person knows to be true: biology matters.

I didn’t know then what I know now.

I didn’t know the full scale of the medical experiments happening on children. I didn’t know how deep the pharmaceutical grip went, or how casually doctors would hand out puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones. I didn’t know how fast the culture would silence anyone who raised a red flag.

Had I known? I would have screamed even louder.

Because this isn’t just about fairness in sports anymore. It’s about safety. It’s about mental health. It’s about the devastating effects we are now seeing play out in real time, violent outcomes from young adults who were told that delusion was truth, who were affirmed in their confusion instead of guided toward reality.

What I stood for in 2021 was a warning sign.

What I stand for today is an alarm bell.

The people who tried to destroy me back then wanted to shut me up. But they can’t anymore. The evidence is everywhere, and it’s bloody.

The question now is not whether we protect female sports. The question is whether we protect our children, our communities, and our future.

And this time, I will not whisper. I will not apologize. I will scream louder.

The Warning Signs Were Right There

Here is a real tweet, from a self-proclaimed transgender activist:

“Death before detransition ❤️”

That line was posted alongside photos of firearms, ammunition, and pill bottles, laid out neatly on top of a transgender pride flag.

That isn’t empowerment. That isn’t identity. That is a manifesto of despair and potential violence. It is a warning sign, broadcast to the world. And yet no one acts.

The Harsh Truth

This is what happens when society celebrates delusion. These individuals are so committed to their (or their parents) decisions that they would rather kill, and/or kill themselves, than admit they made a mistake and need real help.

We warned years ago that puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones would have devastating effects. And here we are. Watching it unfold. Watching innocent people die while the medical establishment and cultural elites pretend nothing is wrong.

How do we come back from this? That’s the question.

Step one is admitting the truth: Affirmation is not a substitute for treatment. Delusion is not healthy. And ignoring the consequences is not compassion.
