On Sunday, June 21, the Mineral County Courthouse became the setting for a moving memorial in honor of Charlie Kirk. Organized with remarkable quick dedication by Ron and Anna Marie White, the gathering stood as a powerful testimony to faith, community, and conviction.
We met on the steps of the courthouse in Superior—the county seat with a population of just 940—and Alberton sits 29 miles away, home to only 452 residents—yet we saw an extraordinary turnout. Nearly 250 people, a significant percentage of the entire local community, came together to honor not only the memory of Charlie Kirk, but also their shared love of God and country.
The program was rich in heartfelt contributions. Five local pastors offered inspiring, Spirit-filled messages, while community leaders delivered words of encouragement and resolve. Tina Cortes gave a compelling appeal for homeschooling, a cause Charlie Kirk strongly supported. A local high school sophomore girl delivered a thoughtful tribute, and the crowd was deeply moved by a flute solo of Amazing Grace, performed with reverence and grace.
I, Bill Lussenheide, was humbled to have been previously invited join in and share a message. In my concluding words, I reminded those gathered of this enduring truth:
“Today, we honor Charlie Kirk—not by retreating in fear—but by standing taller in courage. We memorialize him through action, through truth, through unwavering commitment to God and Country.
Let us move forward with wisdom and boldness. Let us shine as witnesses to righteousness. Let us carry the torch of FREEDOM and TRUTH—unbroken, unstoppable.
For Charlie Kirk. For our children. For America.
We will not be silenced. We will not be defeated. We will endure.” The day was not only a memorial—it was a charge. A call to live with the conviction that Charlie Kirk himself embodied.
