As an American business leader and entrepreneur, I watched the State of the Union as many did, expecting little beyond some fiction that the Biden administration serves this nation’s interests and protects our Constitution.

While Senator Katie Britt (R, AL) may have offered remarks from America’s “kitchen table,” the official GOP rebuttal lacked an aggressive pushback on this extreme left regime that flouts the law daily and imperils our economic and physical security.  This writer would have loved to see Jon Voight or a similar stand-up patriot offer a stinging rejection of the nonsense these socialists are trying to sell.  This writer provides an alternative below:

    My fellow Americans,

The other night, we heard President Biden’s State of the Union speech, the annual address mandated by our Constitution that updates Congress and the entire nation on the state of our republic. This message traditionally inspires patriotism and outlines a positive, unifying agenda to move our country forward.

Biden instead delivered a highly partisan and incoherent tirade that deflected accountability for his misguided and disastrous policies, stoked racial and economic division among our people, and offered no solutions to the escalating economic and security problems at home and abroad.  We saw an angry narcissist with contempt for the American people and the freedoms we hold sacred, who is desperate to hold on to power and willing to say or do virtually anything to keep it.  This speech was an affront to our democracy.

The world was watching and saw a cognitively impaired president, an unprincipled sycophant who puts the interests of other countries above those of the American people, who bows to radical globalist ideologies such as climate alarmism and open borders, who projects weakness and confusion, and who recklessly provokes our adversaries while at the same time enriching them.  This is a recipe for conflict and imperils our future.

Unfortunately, the state of the union is that we are less safe, less prosperous, and less united than we were just three years ago.  By every measure, the country is going in the wrong direction under Joe Biden and the Democrat Party.  Two-thirds of Americans surveyed believe the country is on the wrong track.

By doubling down on his blueprint for failure, Biden is either disconnected from reality or, more likely, following a diabolical plan to destroy America. The theme of Biden’s State of the Union speech should have been “Don’t believe your lying eyes and pocketbook.”

It is widely known that Joe Biden is an inveterate liar with a history of plagiarism.  The examples of Biden's fabrications are innumerable.  Biden has repeatedly lied directly to the American people about his son’s laptop being Russian disinformation, which has been debunked by his own Justice Department, and his involvement in his family’s pay-for-play influence-peddling schemes where he is known as “The Big Guy.”  Companies and oligarchs associated with The Chinese Communist Party, Russia, and Ukraine paid millions to the Biden family in return for no apparent product or service, funds which were ultimately funneled through dozens of hidden offshore corporations.  As Vice President, Biden was on camera bragging about withholding $1 Billion in U.S. foreign military aid to Ukraine as leverage to get a prosecutor fired who was investigating Ukrainian energy company Burisma, where his son was making tens of thousands of dollars each month.

Over his many decades in politics, Biden has accomplished little in terms of legislation but has been successful in using his government positions for self-enrichment. How can a career politician amass millions of dollars in wealth with multiple homes for himself and his family? You might see this level of corruption in dictatorships or banana republics. Just “Follow the Money,” and you will know Biden is compromised. Biden is currently the subject of an impeachment inquiry by the U.S. House of Representatives.

Biden also lied about his unlawful theft of classified documents, some top secret, held in multiple unsecured locations, including his garage, for many years going back to his time in Congress, which has put our country at risk.  This is a serious crime because he did not have the authority to keep these documents, a privilege only afforded the President under the Presidential Records Act.  Biden compromised our national security through his negligence and brazen law-breaking. Special Counsel Robert Hur, assigned to the investigation, deemed Biden guilty but not mentally competent to stand trial.

Biden’s distasteful record of lying and plagiarism is matched by his history of racism, segregation, corruption, and dangerous bad judgment, which continues today.

The election strategy of the Biden administration and the Democrat Party is focused on creating victimized voting blocs, fabricating discord, and dividing Americans based on skin color, race, sex, ethnicity, and economic position, which is despicable and anti-American.

The fact is that most of Biden’s policies hurt the minority community.  For example:

    • Education:  Rejects school choice, which would provide the best chance for disadvantaged children to succeed, even those in the most impoverished areas.  The illegal minors who don’t speak English are concentrated in urban communities, further eroding the quality of education.
    • Energy:  Biden’s rampant inflation through energy suppression and money printing disproportionately affects the poor and middle class, affecting the cost of food, gasoline, and housing.
    • Illegal Immigration policy:  Flooding our cities with millions of illegals has created rampant crime, the depletion of community resources, and a strain on services like law enforcement, education, and healthcare.
    • Abortion Advocacy:  Promotion of abortion, where black women have been experiencing induced abortions at a rate nearly four times that of white women for at least three decades, according to the National Library of Medicine.  Over 70 percent of all abortions in the U.S. involve minority women.
    • Drug Policy: Illicit drugs continue through our open borders into urban communities, which have the highest overdose death rates.  Fentanyl primarily comes through the southern border and causes over 100,000 deaths each year.
    • Law & Disorder:  Efforts to defund the police, eliminate cash bail; failure to prosecute certain crimes like shoplifting, release violent criminals, subsidize and legalize drug use, and other radical policies, which drive out retailers and further degrade the standard of living in minority communities.
    • Marxism:  Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives that destroy merit-based achievement and hiring, lower the bar for minorities and potentially increase division and intolerance.

The top issue on the minds of Americans today is the open border and the estimated 10 million unvetted illegals that have been deliberately pouring into the country over the past three years.  When Biden came into office, he reversed over 90 U.S. immigration policies from the prior administration that were in place to secure our borders, including remaining in Mexico and completing the border wall.  Our borders were the most secure in recent history when he took office.

Biden and the Democrat’s unsustainable open border policies are inviting millions from all over the world with free phones, medical care, education, housing, and debit cards, all paid for with our tax dollars.  They are even trying to give illegals voting rights, which should outrage every American citizen.  The price of the open border to our taxpayers is estimated at almost $500 Billion annually, which does not factor in the cost of violent crime and drugs, degraded education and healthcare, and quality of life for our citizens.

The invasion of illegals into our country means more drug trafficking and human trafficking, gang violence, drug overdose deaths from fentanyl, and enriching cartels with billions of dollars.  It also introduces a national security risk unlike anything we have seen.  The vast majority of the illegals coming into the U.S. are young, military-age men from countries that are our enemies, over 25,000 from China alone, and hundreds are on the terrorist watch list.

Besides having a wide-open border, we learned recently that the Biden administration has secretly flown over 320,000 illegals directly into the U.S. on our dime.

Incredibly, Biden’s Justice Department has sued Texas just for trying to enforce the law and protect its border.

This radical open border policy appears to be aimed at creating a new voter base, giving the Democrat party a permanent hold on power, and offsetting the votes of legal, tax-paying citizens.

Meanwhile, our veterans receive none of the amenities afforded to this horde of migrants. Tens of thousands of our heroes live hand to mouth, often on the streets, while illegals stay for free in some of the finest hotels.

Biden’s so-called “shrinkflation” is a direct result of Biden’s out-of-control spending.  It is just another way of saying that his inflation has caused companies to lower the volume of their product in packaging to keep those items affordable to average Americans.

Inflation under the Biden administration reached a 40-year high, and although the rate of increase may finally be falling, the 20% to 30% increase in prices remains.  We continue to live with Biden’s inflation.

The current price of regular gasoline is up almost 50 percent from when Biden took office.  At one point, it was nearly three times higher than the previous administration.  Biden’s war on energy means a war on our standard of living and the destruction of our economy.  Biden’s first actions in office, in addition to opening the border, included killing the Keystone Pipeline, which would have created jobs and brought oil in from Canada, and drilling in Anwar, which has some of the largest oil reserves in the world.  Our country went from energy independence and potentially energy dominance to buying oil from countries that do not like us in the Middle East and Venezuela.  The Green New Deal is really the Green New Scam, a globalist plan to weaken America and make it dependent on other countries for its energy resources.  It has nothing to do with the environment.

In addition to his war on energy, Biden’s inflation stems from out-of-control spending, including the wasteful funding of endless foreign wars that don’t even involve our country.  The U.S. has funded over $100 billion to Ukraine without any accountability or end strategy.  The current budget deficit is $1.4 Trillion annually, and our debt is $34.5 Trillion, almost $100,000 per person.  Our GDP is only around $28 Trillion.

Biden’s foreign policy disasters have made America weak by emboldening and enriching our enemies and degrading the confidence of our allies, precipitating an outbreak of global conflicts and putting us closer to nuclear war than at any time in our history. This follows an administration that had no wars and no significant conflicts.

Robert Gates, the Secretary of Defense under Obama, said it best: "I think Biden has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”

The most egregious foreign policy failure in our nation’s history was Biden’s humiliating withdrawal from Afghanistan, taking our soldiers out first and abandoning a strategic base in Bagram, causing the unnecessary death of 13 soldiers with dozens injured and tens of thousands of Afghan allies left to die at the hands of the Taliban, plus giving them $85 Billion in the finest military equipment.

The Russia/Ukraine war, now going on its third year, may never have happened without Biden’s foreign policy blunders.  Biden told Russia it could invade Ukraine, stating the West’s response would be muted for a minor incursion.  Biden’s comment and the projected weakness from the Afghanistan debacle were likely the primary catalysts for the Russia/Ukraine war. Adding to this was Biden’s initiatives curtailing American energy, which elevated the global price of oil and enabled Russia to fund its military escalation.  Now, hundreds of thousands of people have died as a result.

Similarly, Biden enriched Iran $200 Billion by canceling many of the crippling economic sanctions put in place by the previous administration.  Biden also paid Iran billions for hostages.  This funding empowered Iran to create chaos throughout the Middle East, build its nuclear capabilities, and fund terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah, who barbarically killed over 1,000 innocent Israelis back in October 2023.  The previous administration had peace in the Middle East and had assembled an unprecedented alliance of countries with the Abraham Accords.

Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal, his inaction with the Chinese spy balloons, as well as his compromised position from corrupt business dealings and influence peddling with the Chinese Communist Party, have encouraged China to step up preparations for an impending Taiwan invasion.

At home, Biden and the Democrat Party have eroded the integrity of our institutions by weaponizing the Justice Department against political enemies, something characteristic of dictatorships and banana republics.  Radical Democrat prosecutors, attorneys general, and judges are twisting laws to criminalize and incarcerate those they disagree with.  These tactics aim to remove opposing party candidates from the ballot to win an election.

In summary, Biden and his Democrat policies amount to a war against America, including:

    • A war on our sovereignty by eliminating the borders of the U.S., allowing anyone in without knowing who they are and where they come from.
    • A war on our safety by allowing our cities to be flooded with illegals and, at the same time, defunding and demonizing law enforcement.
    • A war on our traditional Judeo-Christian values and the family, the fabric of our nation, by promoting radical ideologies like transgenderism, making drugs more accessible, undermining parental rights, and promoting abortion.
    • A war on civil rights, weaponizing the justice system by using lawfare to spy on, intimidate, and incarcerate political opponents and anyone who does not support radical views.
    • A war on the Constitution and liberty, including freedom of speech and the right to keep and bear arms.
    • A war on accomplishment and excellence, promoting DEI and other discriminatory concepts.

Are you better off today than you were three years ago?

Is the U.S. stronger than it was three years ago?

Our country is at a crossroads, and our chosen direction will set the course for future generations.

Thank you, and God bless you.
