Friends, we are witnessing a technological revolution. AI, robotics, and massive data centers are advancing at breathtaking speed. We are building machines that can think, predict, and monitor practically everything—except, apparently, whether we should be doing some of these things in the first place! There are two sides to this sword. One could make life magnificent. The other could make George Orwell look like an incurable optimist.

THE YIN: THE POWER TO CONTROL
Imagine a world where somebody knows where you are, what you buy, what you say, what you believe, and how much money you have. Now eliminate cash and make everything digital. Your purchases become trackable, and your ability to buy or sell could potentially be restricted with a few keystrokes. Congratulations! You no longer need a prison guard. You have a smartphone and an account that suddenly says, TRANSACTION DECLINED. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR FRIENDLY GOVERNMENT.

For Christians, Revelation 13:17 deserves serious attention. It warns of a time when no one can buy or sell without the mark of the beast. Let’s be clear: Scripture does not say today’s AI or digital currency IS that mark. But the technological capability for unprecedented economic control is rapidly developing. Ignoring that possibility would be foolish. Tomorrow’s tyrant might need little more than a database, an algorithm, and the authority to turn off your financial access.

THE YANG: THE POWER TO COMPETE
Before we all retreat to the woods and start conducting business exclusively in chickens and silver coins, there’s another side to consider. AI isn’t going away, and China isn’t waiting for us to finish arguing about it. China is investing heavily in AI, robotics, drones, and computing infrastructure—all increasingly important to manufacturing, economic strength, and modern warfare. Data centers are the factories of the digital age. If America refuses to build them, our competitors won’t politely follow our example. They’ll build their own—and potentially gain a major advantage.

The same AI that can monitor populations can analyze battlefields. The same robots that replace workers can manufacture essential goods. The same drones that threaten freedom can help defend it. The answer isn’t to smash every computer and return to the good old days when our biggest technological problem was pointing the television antenna in the right direction.

The real question is who controls this technology, who benefits from it, and what moral principles govern its use.

THE BOTTOM LINE: BUILD THE MACHINES, BUT DON’T FORGET THE CREATOR
The greatest danger isn’t necessarily AI or data centers. It’s human beings with enormous power and insufficient moral restraint. America must remain technologically competitive while protecting privacy, free speech, property rights, and freedom of conscience. We need innovation and national security—but also accountability and limits on government power. Technology can calculate a trillion possibilities in seconds. Unfortunately, it cannot automatically teach its owner the difference between right and wrong.

Friends, don’t panic—but don’t be asleep! Defend liberty. Demand accountability. Keep America competitive. And above all, stay close to God and His ways.

The world is busy building machines of unprecedented power. Let us make sure we are building something more important: faith, character, and the courage to do what is right when doing so becomes costly.

Because when the final test comes, the most important question may not be how sophisticated our technology has become. It may be whether, when the system demands our obedience, we choose the system—or God. And unlike your latest software update, that decision cannot be left on autopilot.
