Cascade County Montana deserves an Clerk and Recorder with some integrity

When is a RINO not a RINO?
When it is a roach.
Or, rather a Lynn Deroche.

For decades, like many jurisdictions, Cascade County voters have endured political smear campaigns, backroom deals, manipulation of narratives  and chronic backstabbing. Oh, and blatant election fraud under Democrat actors in the Election Office.

Seriously, folks, haven’t we had enough of the nonsense? Isn’t it time to put the proverbial thinking cap on, engage brain, activate common sense?
AND VOTE!

In the June 2nd Republican Primary, the County Clerk & Recorder/Surveyor/Auditor race is again a referendum on RINO cover ups and crony kickbacks.

This time around, voters will choose between actual principled Republican, Desarea Valentine, and RINO saboteur, Lynn Deroche

Rewind to 2022, when the fed-up voters of Cascade County, coming off of covid-addled elections, rejected the Democrat who had presided over the deterioration of the County Clerk & Recorder, Auditor, Surveyor and Elections  Administration department for nearly two decades; instead they elected Republican Sandra Merchant, with a mandate for Election integrity, as well as reform of unfair crony  practices, and clean up of voter rolls.

The shenanigans that followed exposed deep rot within the Cascade County Commission and its departments, highlighting the systemic hostility –  directed by Cascade County Commissioner Joe Briggs – against elected Republicans who dared to follow (and worse, hold  him accountable to) Montana State Law.

From a contentious recount, (in which Merchant again prevailed) to a coordinated campaign of hindrance and sabotage of her efforts to take office, and then zero cooperation as she discovered computer files wiped clean, SOPs nonexistent, and an office staffed only by Lynn Deroche – who promptly quit once Merchant finally assumed control of the office.

This left Merchant to organize an office from scratch, with help only from the Secretary of State, and guidance of State Law.

Ms Deroche oiled her way into a new job in the Clerk of Courts Office, and told everyone (including  her own husband) that Merchant had fired her for no reason.

Since then, like a persistent case of herpes, Ms Deroche has never really gone away. Apparently ever on standby and in cahoots with previous office holder, Rina Moore, she has been a court-appointed meddler-in chief, at behest of election-denying rabble rousers, who launched bogus  lawfare actions against Elected Merchant.

Further, aided and abetted by embedded RINOs, Ms Deroche slapped an R behind her name and infiltrated the Cascade County Republican Central Committee as a Precinct Committeewoman.

Then, despite email revelations of her pattern of incompetence (bordering on straight up malfeasance), uncovered during the plaintiff’s investigation into a rigged Fort Shaw Irrigation District election, Ms Deroche never faced any consequences.

In fact, because of Deroche’s insinuation into Merchant’s Election Office during the election deniers’ bogus lawfare, the Fort Shaw lawsuit resulted in a liability judgment against the County Elections Office, so the fiasco was conveniently pinned on County Clerk/EA Merchant.

Since then, Ms Deroche keeps resurfacing in the Elections department.

She is currently employed there, despite a 2024 Briggs-controlled Commission Resolution prohibiting candidates from working in the Office during Election processing.

Of course, a loophole was found, and Briggs’ current appointed election administrator assures us everything is copacetic….

The upshot is: we voters must show up to finally deliver accountability to Ms Deroche, by voting in the Republican Primary, rejecting her subversion of Montana Law.

We must vote June 2 for Desarea Valentine.
