One Proper Choice For Montana Senate 43!

In the Montana Senate race for District 43, voters are spared the usual mystery. We don’t have to guess who these candidates are — Dave Bedey and Kathy Love both served in the House in 2025, cast votes on hundreds of bills, and left behind something inconvenient for spin artists everywhere: a public voting record.

Despite whatever rhetorical fog or campaign sleight-of-hand Dave Bedey tries this week, Kathy Love doesn’t need talking points. She points to her votes — real ones, cast in real time — as proof of where she stands on Faith, Family, and Freedom. Bedey, on the other hand, would prefer voters squint, tilt their heads, and maybe not look too closely.

Below are three bills recently compared by the Montana Family Foundation, where Bedey and Love didn’t just disagree — they landed on opposite planets. And as always, the voting record doesn’t lie, even when candidates try to dodge reality.

SB 218
This bill allows people harmed by radical medical treatments for gender dysphoria to hold doctors accountable. If a treatment causes lasting physical or mental harm — even years later — patients can seek justice.

SB 474
This bill protects families’ rights to religious and medical exemptions from school vaccination mandates, affirms that denying a valid religious exemption is discrimination, and defends personal medical choice.

This bill reinforces that doctors should not help people kill themselves, even if asked — protecting the vulnerable, upholding the value of life, and preventing subtle pressure on the sick or disabled to “do the convenient thing.”
