HAMILTON, Mont.– Montana Senate President Jason Ellsworth, R-Hamilton, released the following statement in response to today’s ruling from the Montana Supreme Court: 

“The Montana Supreme Court is operating so far outside its constitutional boundaries that more and more justices are breaking from the majority to condemn their colleagues’ overreach. Today’s court decision is just the latest in a troubling string of rulings intruding into the Legislature’s constitutional lawmaking role. In the coming days I plan to announce the formation of a new legislative committee tasked with addressing our out-of-control courts.”
