Former Governor Marc Racicot Endorses Democrats

There was a time when the name Marc Racicot carried considerable weight in Republican politics. Two terms as Montana governor. Chairman of the Republican National Committee. A man who spent decades sailing under the Republican flag.

These days, however, one has to wonder whether somebody quietly removed the compass.

Racicot now tells us that the Republican Party has abandoned its principles, while increasingly finding himself standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Democratic candidates and causes. His latest adventure takes him into the 2026 congressional race, where the former Republican governor and RNC chairman has endorsed Democrat Sam Forstag. Racicot says it is “not even a close call” and praises Forstag’s character, values, virtues and belief in the Constitution.

Well, apparently the Republican Party’s old captain has discovered a fascinating new navigation system: when the Republican ship sails right, Racicot simply jumps overboard, and swims left.

And this isn’t merely about one candidate. He endorsed Joe Biden in 2020, and Democrat Monica Tranel for Congress in Montana.

Racicot has spent years arguing that Republicans who support Donald Trump have somehow abandoned their principles. But there is an amusing irony in the former RNC chairman now repeatedly finding himself endorsing Democrats while explaining that everyone else has lost the Republican way.

At some point, one has to ask: If you’ve spent years leaving the Republican column, perhaps the column isn’t the thing that moved.

So here we are: a former Republican governor and former RNC chairman, once entrusted with leading the national Republican Party, now explaining why supporting a Democratic congressional candidate is somehow the logical continuation of Republican principles. That’s quite a journey. In fact, it is absurd!

People are entitled to reconsider their beliefs. But there is something rather remarkable about spending years announcing that the party has lost its way while your own political trajectory increasingly resembles a scenic tour through the Democratic Party’s parking lot.

Racicot says this is about character, virtues, values and the Constitution. While supporting a party that has produced the likes of the Clintons, abortion until child birth, and advocation of Communism and Socialism.

And if you keep walking across the aisle, endorsing Democrats, supporting independents and denouncing Republicans, eventually people are entitled to look at the trail of footprints and ask a very simple question:

Exactly which side of the aisle are you standing on now and were you EVER on our side in the past or were you simply wearing a disguising pragmatic mask.
