Another day, another activist judge legislating from the bench. On February 19th, a liberal Missoula County District Court Judge abandoned both reason and science, tossing on a blue legislator’s name badge in place of her black robe to declare that Montana’s recognition of biological sex is somehow unconstitutional.
This ruling is yet another deliberate step in the broader effort to erase protections for women. For years, feminists fought to secure women’s rights, to ensure girls had a fair shot in sports, and to guarantee females could be safe in private spaces. Now, those hard-won protections are being ripped away by activist judges and radical ideologues who refuse to acknowledge basic biological truths.
Let’s be clear: sex is binary. That is not a radical statement—it’s a fact. Yet here we are, watching the judiciary bend over backward to deny reality. How did we get to a place where stating the truth is controversial? More importantly, how much longer will we tolerate these activist judges?
As someone who has led the charge to defend Montana’s women, I see this ruling for what it is: an attack on common sense. We’re told time and time again that we must “leave the transgender community alone” because they want safety, comfort, and privacy. They don’t want to be bullied.
The reality is women want the same thing. Women want safety, comfort, and privacy. Women don’t want to be bullied into silence. When will Montana women’s voices matter? Maybe when we finally rein in this runaway judiciary.
