At this point we’re all sick of the political ads. As annoying as they may be, we all notice trends in the ads. One of the common trends has been candidates accusing each another of being wealthy or not understanding the working man. What many may not know is that in Senate District 40 Montana voters have the chance to put a working-class father in the Montana Senate: Greg Guthrie.
Greg is not someone who comes from wealth or influence but instead is an everyday hero who has a heart for service. After working hard to serve his country in the Marine Corps. for twenty long years, Greg decided to run for the Senate not because he seeks power or glory for himself but because he saw a need for the working-class people of Montana to be represented. Greg answered the call to serve his country for twenty years and in the armed forces and now has answered the call to serve the people of Montana in Senate District 40. Greg was asked to take on this great burden by Montanans who know him, who recognize his strength of character, who have heard the words he’s spoken in support of the rights of everyday Montanans, who see how he understands the everyday challenges most of us face, and who believe he is truly the best option for providing everyday Montanans representation in the Senate. All the while, Greg has strived to be a strong role model for his children while working as a fabricator here in Helena.
Greg is not shy about his beliefs regarding the dangers of government overreach into our lives. He has spoken out at various political events in recent years and done what he could to hold politicians on both sides of the aisle accountable for their words and actions. A yes man for no party, Greg is a man of integrity who will not hesitate to preach and vote for what he believes in regardless of the pressure the elites may place on him.
Greg’s opponent has come from the very overblown bureaucracy he has spoken out against and wishes to reform. While Greg’s opponent has received thousands of dollars in out-of-state donations and many donations from large special interest groups totaling over $27,000, most of Greg’s support has been from local grassroots efforts here in Senate District 40. We’ve all seen his signs and heard name: Greg has taken the $5,400 he raised and made an incredible and efficient candidacy for himself in Senate District 40 given his far more limited resources and busy work schedule. Greg will bring this economic and financial proficiency into the Senate should we provide him the opportunity to.
This Tuesday let’s put the working man’s candidate – Greg Guthrie – in the Montana senate and give a voice to those who feel they have none. I ask you to vote for Greg Guthrie for SD 40.
