Montanans for Life: A Response to CI-128’s Passage
In the wake of the recent election, Montanans for Life extends our heartfelt appreciation to all pro-life warriors who stood up in defense of life against Montana Constitutional Amendment CI-128. Despite the disappointment of watching this amendment pass, the unwavering commitment demonstrated by our supporters has been inspirational. The massive grassroots movement that mobilized to promote and share the truth about the sanctity of life speaks volumes about the strength of our community and its dedication to justice.
To those who knocked on doors, wrote letters to the editor, texted friends, hosted events, distributed flyers, manned fair booths, volunteered time, and prayed incessantly—thank you! Though the outcome was not what we hoped for, it is essential to recognize that there is honor in our efforts. As St. Teresa of Calcutta said, “We are not called to be successful, but faithful.” And faithful we shall remain as we continue the fight for life.
Considering the almost forty million dollars in out-of-state money that poured into Montana in support of CI-128, it is not surprising that it passed. We are saddened, however, at how easily Montanans were deceived by the twisted rhetoric of the radical pro-abortion lobby. It is clear that the battle over life issues is not merely about opposing legislation—it is a battle for hearts and minds to build a culture that cherishes human life. By fostering genuine connections, and sharing our knowledge and experiences with empathy, we can shift perspectives and ultimately protect the lives of pre-born children without needing to alter any laws.
As we navigate the aftermath of CI-128’s passage, we celebrate the success of pro-life candidates who secured their positions in this election. Your victories bring hope and reinforce our collective resolve to advocate for life-affirming policies. We look forward to partnering with you in the upcoming legislative session to ensure that the values we hold sacred are represented in the halls of power.
Thank you once again to our warriors—we cannot express enough gratitude for your sacrifices and determination. Together we will continue to stand for life, advocate passionately for the voiceless, and strive for a day when every Montanan values the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death.
