Last night taxpayers in Lewis and Clark County, Montana rejected another tax hike that hid under the guise of a school levy. None of the levies had anything to do with improving teacher pay, or education standards. The bloated bureaucracy of the school administrations will have to learn to live on a budget and determine if a superintendent requires a six-figure salary and multiple assistants.

Some might even have to forgo the annual high dollar renovations in their administrative offices.

Here are the unofficial results from the county elections page.

BLDG RES FUND LEVY HELENA ELEM SCHOOL (38.8% YES, 61.2% NO)

GENERAL FUND LEVY HELENA ELEM SCHOOL (48.02% YES, 51.98% NO)

TECHNOLOGY LEVY HELENA ELEM SCHOOL (42.77% YES, 57.23% NO)

BLDG RES FUND LEVY HELENA HIGH SCHOOL (38.63% YES, 61.37% NO)

GENERAL FUND LEVY EAST HELENA K-12 (44.62% YES, 55.38% NO)
