There is a kind of cowardice that speaks only the truths that are safe to tell. Martin Luther put it like this: “If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, even if I think I am.”

When Hitler came into power there was no doubt, he represented evil. Early in his reign he was persecuting those who stood against his political ideology, the god of fascism. This was the time for the German church to stand against his evil ways but thousands of pulpits were silent. History proves most of the German churches bowed to evil and didn’t say anything. It was later when the Jews were being killed and pastors were arrested for not saluting Hitler that the church realized the Nazi regime was not going away, evil was getting worse. Then the churches could only sing hymns as millions of Germans were murdered in death camps.

History is repeating itself. It is now early in the leftist antichrist reign where the American church is finding itself today. The evil secular progressives running our country today are sponsoring every evil known to man. Freedom of speech and religion are being attacked and destroyed and this is to silence the absolute truth of Christ.  Debauchery is taught as normal to our children and the leftist are focused on destroying God’s design for the family. Open borders are killing, raping, and drugging hundreds of thousands of innocent people and most of pulpits are silent while this is getting worse. Like Esther was told.  “For if you remain completely silent at this time, …you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14)? It is obvious to those who walk with Christ, the body of Christ in America has come for such a time as this!

The true issue is churches are not involved in the culture that surrounds them. Christs truth has to be witnessed in the public to influence the culture. Churches are essentially saying, evil politics and religion are not intertwined, which is a self-serving lie. The community of Christ stands against all evil and there is no evil excluded, even if we convince ourselves the exclusion is evil politics. America desperately needs spiritual leaders to speak the cold hard biblical truth exposing evil and lead America out of this Egypt the antichrist is creating.  Sadly, most churches are known for their pastor’s speaking ability and not for their stand against darkness. Presently shepherds are not influencing the community outside their church walls because they do not teach and speak the unsafe truth from the pulpit. They are doing exactly what most of the German churches did. They believe this is not their battle by attempting to silently carve out a neutral role. They must not understand there is no neutral path, no in-between evil and honoring Christ’s commission to “…be Christ’s witnesses, …to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8). Either we obey or we do not.

The church today has to stand against the evil of the wok-ism religion, but if we do not, we prove we fear evil and not God. There is no other way, either the body of Christ stands against evil or they support it. The truth is there are bold churches and weak churches, but there are no bold lukewarm churches, (Revelation 3:14). Every Minister and Christian should know, where the battles rage is where the loyalty of the soldier of God is proven. If we are steady on the battlefield, we are proven loyal to the cause of Christ “to bear witness to the truth,” (John 18:37) and if not, we disgrace ourselves at point of testing.

Christian courage is the willingness to say and do the right thing regardless of the earthly cost, because God promises to help us and save us on account of Christ, (Bible). The Book of Acts is the history that defines the bold Church that committed acts of courage resulting in salvation for many and suffered pain, prison, and death while standing for Christ. Today there is only the possibly of the church being subjected to public controversy. Leftist may even write an adverse op-ed, or at worse, the LGBT community may demonstrate in front of the church. There may also be a few attendees who support evil and will leave the church. This is when we put on the full armor of God pray, “Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness,” (Acts 4:29).

Today there is no fear of martyrdom or prison for the body of Christ for speaking and standing for the biblical truth. The risks today are almost non-existent compared to the time of the Book of Acts. This would make one think today’s shepherds and disciples would be almost as brave as a young slave girl named Esther?  Like Esther, if we remain silent at this time, tomorrow we may not be able to even sing hymns while they kill millions. I pray the American Church will know bold courage is required and indispensable for spreading and preserving the truth of Christ in the community where we live.

Jesus promised that spreading the gospel would meet resistance: “Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name” (Matthew 24:9). Paul added, even in the church, faithfulness to stand for Christ’s truth would be embattled: “I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them” (Acts 20:29-30; see also 2 Timothy 4:3-4). Leviticus 5:1 points out that staying silent about evil is a sin for which people will be held accountable: “If anyone sins because they do not speak up when they hear a public charge to testify regarding something they have seen or learned about, they will be held responsible.” James 4:17 declares: “If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.”

Paul gave the command in Ephesians 5:11 &13 “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.”  “But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.” This is why evil hates the light of Christ’s truth. Being silent about evil means ignoring the opportunities God gives us to do something redemptive. This involves neglecting to bring attention to the evil that is happening, rather than speaking up about it and taking action for justice. When we choose to be silent about evil, we are acting like the servant who hid the talent, (Matthew 25:25) and at worst, we’re helping evil grow and progress. When we realize that our passive silence is actually an active choice not to stand against evil, that should motivate true disciples to stop being silent. Romans 12:21 tells us clearly: “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” The good is always speaking the truth of Christ into darkness. We must speak to expose evil in order to act against it. Just being a good Christian doesn’t cut it. If we are called by God to be His disciple, God is calling us to speak out against evil but if we choose silence, we are sinning. We are violating our calling and have begun the slide into the realm of the lukewarm, the worthless and “the wicked and lazy servant”, (Matthew 25:26).

Christians must realize we are called to speak the power of God’s truth into darkness so the Holy Spirit can turn darkness to light, (Acts 1:8 & 26:18). Faith compels us to speak, (2 Cor 4:12-14), because without speaking the minds who are blinded will not see the light, (2 Cor 4:4). For the spoken word of God causes the intercession of the power of the Holy Spirit, (2 Thess 2:13).  For the spirit without the spoken word is mute! The word without the spirit is powerless. Together the spoken word of God and the spirit are the living power of God, (Heb 4:12). Therefore, we are God’s mouthpiece and use great boldness of speech, (2Cor 3:12). For we war against evil by the power of God’s word, for pulling down arguments against the knowledge of God, (2 Cor 10:4-6)! And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak, knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you, (2 Corinthians 4:13-14).
