How can our religious leaders live with themselves today?
Once it was thought that pastors, priests, and church leaders were the epitomy of goodness and grace. Over time, though, congregants have come to allow themselves to be led, not by the Bible, but by the earthly presence of folks behind the lectern, and those folk have strayed.
Of course, religious people DO study their bibles, the words of the Lord they worship, Somehow, though, most have missed the main, grevious shift of their churches over the last decades, as the leaders turned to preaching the SOCIAL GOSPEL, instead of the Lord’s. Most simply avoid any kind of political involvement, and it’s too late for any other kind.
Examples abound, from Catholicism (with their Marxist Pope), to Episcopalian, Methodist, and even Southern Baptist, as they have turned and bowed toward darkness. Here’s one from 2019 and the Southern Baptist Conference annual meeting, the “fundamentalists” whom folks often suspect least/trust the most
Essentially, that means that religious organizations and their followers are listening to the STATE, not to God. With the state, as obviously worshipping Lucifer as they are today, it is almost uncanny that so many religious leaders still turn away from social action, against the State, and the fallen angel who leads them. Or has the Church been captured by the Dark Side? Dear God, I pray not.
Possibly it IS the organized side of religion that has been captured. What is in each man’s soul, though, can never be had. Challenge your church, or form your own group…it’s up to you. Just please don’t be turned by the siren song of the damned.
NO, I’m not a preacher, and NO, I don’t even go regularly to worship under “the roof”. Long ago, I built a relationship with my God to try my best to LIVE his word, and not be bound by scheduled dictates. Even the “work of the church” has turned me off in these last years. Catholic Charities’ role in drug and child-trafficking centers is one of those.
There are many more, but I promised to keep this sermon short, so I’ll let you look those up yourselves. Or you may already know…
As a child I had a long string of perfect attendance pins from Sunday School. I still have them, and occasionally pull them out and think of how many of the successive years I might have earned a sort of “directional” perfect attendance. Hope and pray it was a lot.
The message I’m trying to put forth is that, standing with God can take many many different forms, as long as the basics are there in your life…. you know… JOY. My mom taught me the meaning of those words decades ago PutJesus first, then Others, then Yourself, and you will know real JOY. Lord knows, she was a whole lot better at it than I am, but I try, and that is what it is all about. Trying.
I’d love to see more organized religion turn back to the Lord’s Gospel, and become actively involved. After all, God’s Son overturned the tables of the money changers in the Temple. It’s the least we can do to help our nation.
