The Montana Freedom Caucus' most recent press release dated December 8th, 2023 stated that they stand with Congressman Matt Rosendale (R-MT) as they called for Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) to publicly reject a recent National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) led attack on Congressman Matt Rosendale.  Senator Daines is Chairman of the NRSC and ultimately responsible for all of the committee's communications.

The Freedom Caucus call came after the NRSC published a statement following Kevin McCarthy's retirement announcement accusing Rosendale of serving as a plant for the Democrats. The NRSC claims he is benefiting from Democrat aligned PACs and is an ally to Hakeem Jeffries and Nancy Pelosi.

The statement comes at a time when many in Montana anticipate Rosendale to enter the race for U.S. Senate, where he would run against the NRSC choice, Tim Sheehy. A race, where despite Rosendale having not even announced his potential candidacy, he has a clear lead in the polls over Sheehy.

The Montana Freedom Caucus concluded their statement by highlighting that Congressman Rosendale has a 100% constitutional voter rating, is a nationally recognized "champion of the people," and that claiming Rosendale is a Democratic plant is a low and distasteful tactic.

Whoever runs against Jon Tester should be a veteran. If it was someone besides Tim Sheehy it should still be a veteran.

To be fair and with regard to Gary Carlson's comment, the veterans in Congress have not always been fully onboard with the conservative agenda. I believe only about two of the recent group voted in are members of the Freedom Caucus. There's a bit of a 'go along and play nice' attitude run amok in our veterans that does not serve the public well. Remember, Nickols-Goldwater had to be imposed upon the military to get them working together. We need America-first conservatives, period.
